STING + TRUDIE

"WE LOVE EACH OTHER, THAT'S A GIVEN, BUT TRUDIE LIGHTS UP MY WORLD WHEN SHE COMES INTO A ROOM. I DO NOT TAKE HER FOR GRANTED. RELATIONSHIPS ARE NOT EASY, AND I DO NOT THINK THEY ARE PARTICULARLY NATURAL, BUT WE'RE LUCKY BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY LIKE EACH OTHER.’

THIS PHOTOGRAPHS ARE OF MY GRANDFATHER,

RONALD THOMAS CHARLES WILLS, SERVING IN WWII, IN 1945.

HE WAS ALWAYS ‘GA’ TO ME. I THINK HE LOOKS SO HANDSOME IN THESE PHOTOGRAPHS. FOR CHRISTMAS LAST YEAR, MY FATHER GAVE ME A GOLD WATCH GA USED TO WEAR & IT IS ONE OF MY MOST TREASURED POSSESSIONS & WHICH I WEAR WITH PRIDE.

HE USED TO CALL ME HIS ‘BABY DOLL’ & I MISS HIM EVERYDAY.

TO ALL DIGGERS, PAST & PRESENT.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SACRIFICE.

TRUE BRAVERY. TRUE HEROES.

TO MY GA,

THINKING OF YOU TODAY & ALWAYS.

I MISS YOU. I LOVE YOU.

LOVE SAMANTHA, YOUR BABY DOLL. X

IMPATIENT AND A LITTLE INSECURE....

‎"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."
— Marilyn Monroe

A LETTER FROM OPRAH

In 1998, when I was in high school, I wrote a letter to Oprah. I wrote it on my 'best stationary' at the time (it may or may not have been brightly printed Snoopy stationary...with matching envelope!), from my desk, in my bedroom Port Macquarie, NSW. I don't remember what I wrote, but I remember the day I received a response in the post a few months later. The fact that I got a response at all truly made me believe in the power surprising acts (however small & insignificant they may seem) & the belief in something so much greater. The below image is the letter I received in response, & remains one of my most keepsake possessions...
(thank you, Oprah) - SWx
